About

Dolores Hagen

My mission is to partner with women who want to feel and look sensational. I hope you will be one of these sensational women.

Nothing delights me more than watching the excitement and smiles on women who have made a few changes to their lives and feel better about themselves. Often it’s not anything major. Sometimes just a few tips for changes in color, wardrobe or makeup seem to make a huge difference in self-confidence.

I know what it’s like to feel less-than, dowdy and out-of-date because I’ve been there. In fact, it’s a battle that continues and becomes harder as the years fly past.

When my sons grew up and I went back to work, I knew I had to change my appearance from chief cook and bottle-washer to business woman. I didn’t know what to do other than picking up fashion magazines. Fashion magazines are great to look at for trends but how many of us can carry off those extreme looks?

Then one day I hit a turning point. That was the day that I saw my reflection in a store window and wondered who that frumpy-looking woman was. It was me!

Coincidentally, the shop window was next door to a modeling and charm school. After witnessing this devastating reflection,  I screwed up my courage and asked them what they could do for me. They were so welcoming (and they should have been at the prices they charged) and friendly that I gave myself a 16-week course as a birthday gift.

The biggest boost to my diminishing self-esteem is that in going through this course I gradually received compliments as I went along. This may seem like small thing but I found that just that small thing created a boost in the self-confidence that I needed. Not only did I start to look better, I felt a new spark in my life that I thought had gone forever.

I don’t know if self-esteem comes from feeling that you look great or if looking great comes from self-esteem. Either way, I wonder how many women get a “you look beautiful” or even an occasional compliment. Most of the compliments I had received for all those years were on my cooking.

At this school (John Robert Powers), I learned time-tested and classic methods for choosing the most flattering clothing, makeup, and colors. After that course I was asked if I would like to take a teacher-training course so that I could teach in their school. I taught for them for three years and loved the amazing transformations I that surrounded me. I had the pleasure of witnessing and contributing to every beautiful woman who came through those doors.

Feeling confident and knowing I was looking my best contributed to my finding a wonderful job and later to public speaking and starting my own business. Unfortunately, there are very few schools and courses that teach these techniques, so I’d like to fill that gap in a way that is easy, convenient and fun.

As far as I can see, it’s not easy to access such information for the woman over 60. Most information about style and beauty is geared to the woman 50 and under. But there is a difference. When we get to age 60 and beyond, we have different needs. Often we seem to be invisible, taken for granted, or overlooked.  I want women to know exactly how and what to do about that.

If you have not done so, please sign up for my FREE mini-course that will get you started on the road to an even more fabulous and sensational you!

Warmly,
Dolores
